It was originally developed for logistical purposes, but has established itself primarily in the consumer and marketing environment. Compared to classic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.diagraph.de\/en\/glossar\/barcode\/\">barcodes<\/a>, a QR code can contain significantly more data and is particularly easy to scan with smartphones.
