SLG Kunststoff achieves 25% energy reduction with the Diagraph PA7100 print and apply labeling machine

7. March 2024 // Werner Schicks

The use of Diagraph’s PA7100 label printing dispensers has led to considerable energy savings at SLG Kunststoff. SLG Kunststoff partnered with Diagraph in October 2019 after identifying the need for a more reliable supplier and labeling system for its new factory.

In March 2020, the Diagraph all-electric PA7100 print & apply labeling machine was tested, and SLG Technical Manager Aytac Hatkoy was extremely satisfied with the results. He said, “Our machines run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Diagraph’s labelers can withstand this and save 25% on energy costs.”

The advantages for SLG

Switching to the Diagraph PA7100 allowed SLG to not only enhance its labeling process but also achieve significant energy savings. As a result, SLG plans to integrate the Diagraph PA7100 with approximately 40 injection molding machines. The convincing features are:

  1. Precise label placement: The labelers all-electric servo motors ensured precise label placement without the need for compressed air.
  2. Comprehensive support from Diagraph: Diagraph’s support includes commissioning, training and ongoing production support.
  3. Effortless label creation with NiceLabel software: The integration of NiceLabel software facilitated the seamless creation of labels.
  4. Versatility with SATO and Zebra printing modules: The labelers featured SATO and Zebra printing modules, adding versatility to SLG’s labeling process.
  5. Expert guidance in thermal transfer film selection: Diagraph helped in identifying the correct thermal transfer film for SLG’s requirements.
  6. 25% reduction in energy consumption: The Diagraph PA7100 print & apply labeling machine required 25% less energy than the previously used pneumatic labelers.

Thanks to the use of Diagraph’s PA7100 label printing dispensers, SLG Kunststoff was not only able to improve its labeling, but also achieve considerable energy savings of 25%. The project is now being extended to all injection molding machines in the company to take full advantage of the PA7100.
