Since October 2020, Diagraph has taken over the sponsorship of Jule Ramisch, a 15-year-old canoe slalom athlete.

Here is the profile of Jule.

Hello,

my name is Jule Ramisch, I am 15 years old and live with my family in the district of Lüneburg.

My hobby is canoe slalom.

I am often asked how I got into this sport. It all started with a paddling trip with my family in a canoe on the Ilmenau. Here I discovered the fun of paddling and got the idea to look for a sport in this direction.

After doing some research, I then attended some training sessions in the beginner paddling group of LKC Lüneburg and joined the club in May 2018. After I had been there 3 – 4 times, my coach at the time said that he could very well imagine that I would be good in the slalom group. He felt that I had the potential and would enjoy riding the gates and the competitive atmosphere. He was to be proved right in this.

After about 2 months of training in the slalom group, I was allowed to participate in my first regatta. This was the state championship in Lüneburg, where I came in second and was thus runner-up in my age group. After that I participated in some regattas in the age group “female students A K1”. Z. B.:

  • September 2018 – Regatta in Braunschweig – 2nd place
  • May 2019 – Regatta in Rotenburg – 2nd place
  • June 2019 – Regatta in Braunschweig – 3rd place
  • September 2019 – Regatta in Lüneburg – 2nd place (vice national champion).

Then in mid-September 2019, I traded the club boat for my own boat. I am very proud of this, as I saved up the money for this myself.

For those who are not familiar with the matter: A new slalom kayak costs from € 2,500, –; therefore, the used boats are very sought after and unfortunately only limited findable.

Since this year I race in the age group “female youth K1”. Due to the Corona pandemic, many regattas were cancelled. This is a pity, because this year I changed to the club MTV-Luhdorf/Roydorf in Winsen (Luhe) and now I had some training losses. Therefore, I am happy that this year I could at least defend my title as “vice national champion” also in this year, in the new age group, for my new club.

At the regatta in Luhdorf in July, I won the first race in the 2nd place and took 1st place in the second race.

The North German Championship has been moved from Schwerte to Luhdorf this year and will take place on 27.09.2020. As there is a lot of competition here, I hope to use the skills I have acquired so far to achieve a good place.

Since quality equipment for this sport is quite expensive, as indicated above, I would like to thank the company Diagraph for their kind support in the form of sponsorship.

We wish Jule good luck in the next competitions and keep you posted about her successes.

Update January 2023: Jule has finished her active time in canoeing at the end of the year 2022. We wish her much success in her future life!
